ASUS proudly announces its recognition as an EPEAT Climate+ Champion, underscoring our unwavering dedication to combat climate change. This prestigious Climate+ designation is exclusively bestowed upon EPEAT registered products that meet the most rigorous industry standards for decarbonization, environmental responsibility, and energy efficiency.

EPEAT, established by the Global Electronics Council (GEC), stands as a premier sustainability ecolabel for electronic products. ASUS’ attainment of the EPEAT Climate+ designation represents the latest accolade in our ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability and climate action.

ASUS EPEAT Climate+ Champion

EPEAT employs rigorous criteria to determine a product’s eligibility for their esteemed ecolabel. This involves not only meeting demanding category-specific benchmarks for factors like materials selection, circular design, and end-of-life management but also satisfying additional critical criteria unique to the Climate+ designation. These encompass third-party-verified product carbon footprint reports, validation of emission reduction targets by the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi), energy-efficient manufacturing, and the use of renewable energy sources.

ASUS has embraced EPEAT’s criteria and philosophy, aligning seamlessly with our commitment to climate action. Our near-term science-based emission reduction goals have received the endorsement of the SBTi, an initiative driven by the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) and the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP). Furthermore, ASUS is dedicated to establishing long-term emission reduction objectives in line with achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.

At ASUS, the pursuit of low-carbon products remains a focal point, emphasizing energy efficiency, renewable energy utilization, and the provision of verified product carbon footprint reports. EPEAT Climate+ designated ASUS products will feature third-party-verified reports of their carbon footprint. Our greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory reporting is independently validated, ensuring the utmost precision and transparency in our environmental initiatives.

ASUS’s commitment to sustainability extends to its operational centers, where we surpass EPEAT’s requirement for a minimum of 12.5% renewable energy use. This underscores our resolute commitment to sustainable practices and signifies our significant progress toward achieving 100% renewable energy utilization in our Taiwan-based operations centers by 2030 and globally by 2035.

Recognizing the vital role of the supply chain in greenhouse gas emissions, ASUS has initiated carbon reduction engagement and communication programs within our supply chain. In 2022, our key suppliers achieved a commendable 24% reduction in GHG emission intensity, compared to the 2020 baseline.

Furthermore, they are poised to reach a remarkable 30% reduction in emission intensity by 2025. These ongoing efforts exemplify ASUS’s steadfast dedication to environmental stewardship, carbon footprint reduction, and our commitment to a more sustainable and promising future.
