Ranking of the top 5 Indian brands in 2023 includes Reliance and Jio
1 min readTata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Reliance Industries emerged as the leading brands in India, according to a report released by Interbrand, a renowned global brand consultancy. Reliance Industries, headed by billionaire Mukesh Ambani, achieved the second position with a brand value of ₹65,320 crore, experiencing a remarkable 121% growth over the past decade. Additionally, Jio, the digital unit of Reliance, secured the fifth spot with a brand value of ₹49,027 crore.
TCS retained its position as the most valuable brand in the country, with a value of approximately ₹1.1 lakh crore. Infosys and HDFC ranked third and fourth, respectively, on the list with brand values of ₹53,323 crore and ₹50,291 crore.
The top three brands alone accounted for 46% of the total value of the top ten brands, while the top five collectively contributed 40% to the overall value.
Notable brands in the top 10 also included Airtel, Life Insurance Corporation (LIC), Mahindra, State Bank of India, and ICICI. The FMCG sector exhibited an impressive compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 25%, followed by home building and infrastructure at 17% and technology at 14%.
This year’s rankings demonstrated significant growth, with the total value of the top brands surpassing ₹8.3 lakh crore (USD 100 billion), marking a substantial 167% increase over the past decade. The combined value of the top ten brands amounted to ₹4.9 lakh crore, exceeding the total value of the remaining 40 brands on the list, which amounted to ₹3.3 lakh crore.
