Redmi A2, Redmi A2+ With 5,000mAh Battery Debut in India: Check Price, Features

Redmi A2 and Redmi A2+ smartphones were recently launched in India on May 19. These affordable models, part of Xiaomi’s sub-brand, come with a water-drop style notch display and are available in multiple color options. Both phones feature 5,000mAh batteries and are powered by MediaTek Helio G36 SoC, paired with up to 4GB of RAM and a maximum of 64GB of storage.

The Redmi A2 series sports a 6.52-inch HD+ LCD screen and is equipped with an 8-megapixel dual rear camera setup. While the specifications of both smartphones are similar, the Redmi A2+ includes a fingerprint sensor. Sales of the Redmi A2 and Redmi A2+ will begin in India on May 23.

Price And Features

In terms of pricing, the Redmi A2 starts at Rs. 5,999 for the base variant with 2GB RAM and 32GB storage. The variant with 2GB RAM and 64GB storage is priced at Rs. 6,499, while the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage model costs Rs. 7,499. On the other hand, the Redmi A2+ is priced at Rs. 8,499 for the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant. The smartphones are available in Black, Light Green, and Light Blue color options.

Starting from May 23 at 12pm IST, customers can purchase the Redmi A2 and Redmi A2+ from various retail channels including Amazon, Mi.com, Mi Home stores, and Xiaomi’s retail partners. Additionally, Redmi is offering a cashback of Rs. 500 for customers using ICICI Bank cards to purchase the Redmi A2 series smartphones. Furthermore, the devices come with a two-year warranty.

The Redmi A2 and Redmi A2+ run on Android 13 and support dual SIM cards. They feature a 6.52-inch HD+ LCD screen with a water-drop style notch for the front cameras. These phones are powered by MediaTek Helio G36 SoC and offer up to 4GB of RAM. Storage can be expanded up to 64GB using a microSD card. The dual rear camera setup includes an 8-megapixel primary sensor and a QVGA camera, while the front camera is a 5-megapixel sensor.

Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, FM radio, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Additionally, the Redmi A2+ includes a fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication. Both models come with 5,000mAh batteries supporting 10W fast charging, providing up to 32 days of standby time and up to 150 hours of playtime on a single charge.
