Getting ready for a special occasion is not an easy task. You not only have to take care of your dress and accessories, but also chose the correct make-up and hairstyle. Here are some Hairstyle tips for special occasion –

Curly Hair

» Curly hair can actually look amazing short, provided you get the right cut. The trick is cutting in lots of layers and thinning out the hair so it doesn’t become a huge fluff ball.

» Instead of tying curly hair prefer keeping them open, use stylish hair bands and clips.

» When going for some special occasion, you can straighten them for a different look. Ironing the curls can be a good option rather than using hair straightening products because they have lot of chemicals.

» If your hair is susceptible to dryness, frizz or dandruff, keep away from products with alcohol and treat hair to a deep conditioning hair mask at least once a week. Consider natural oils as well. Avoid using hair-dryer.

Sraight Hair

» Unlike curly hair, there are a lot of hair styling options with straight or slightly curled hair. You can go for a low, high or side pony-tail or try a stylish french braid.

» You can also try a simple bun or a braid bun. For simple bun all you need to do is roll the hair and fix it with pins. For braid bun, you should first make a simple braid, then roll it into a bun.

» Vintage curls can be an option too. For this put hair on either side of your shoulder. Take small sections and curl in towards your face. Repeat until full hair is curled. Twist the curls with your fingers in towards your face.

» If you have long hair, you can also go for fishtail high pony. Tie a tight high pony. Separate pony into two sections. Then create a tight fishtail braid by layering small pieces of hair from both the sections over one-another. Braid the whole pony and secure it with a rubber-band.

» If you have short hair, go for head braid. Divide your hair in two sections from back. French braid the first section along your head towards the nape of your neck. Secure it with a rubber-band. Repeat the process with the second section of your hair. Now secure both the sections with bun pins in the middle of your neck.

Stylish Buns

» Messy back bun, gather all your hair at the back like you would for a ponytail and tie it up in a bun, leaving it a bit loose at the bottom, letting the tips hang out of the bun. Leave your side and front bangs loose.

» With off-shoulders, halters, backless, low-back dresses and gowns, you can try low neck bun. Comb back your hair and gather all of it near the nape. At the back, take the hair little towards your left side and make a small bun, tying up the hair in the middle and leaving the length from mid to bottom very loose. Now gather the loose hair and pin it up in your hair with an elegant brooch or flowery accessory clip.

» If you have short hair, then go for twisted low bun. Comb your hair to take out all the knots. Gather all of it at the back. Now twist the hair from the bottom and roll it up till where the middle part of your head is. Pin the twisted hair tightly at the middle back. If you think it’s still a bit loose, fasten it with a fashionable brooch.

» For tomboy looks, go for messy loose bun. Comb your hair, letting your waves take centre stage. Gather all your hair very loosely upwards and tie it up in a loose bun, placing your hair in the middle of the back of your head.
