1 min read

WhatsApp users frequently utilize stickers to enhance their conversations with friends and family. Until now, users had to rely on third-party applications like sticker.ly to incorporate stickers into the instant messaging platform.

However, an intriguing report from WABetaInfo suggests that the developers of WhatsApp are actively working on a new sticker maker tool. This forthcoming feature will enable users to transform images into stickers by utilizing iOS 16 APIs. The tool will automatically extract the main subject from an image and convert it into a sticker.

The “New Sticker” option will be accessible within the chat share action sheet, allowing users to select an image from their library and effortlessly convert it into a sticker. This new functionality will eliminate the necessity of depending on third-party apps for obtaining new stickers.

Although the sticker maker tool is currently available to WhatsApp beta users on iOS version 23.10.0.74, it remains unclear when or if this feature will be integrated into the stable version of the app.

Additionally, WhatsApp recently introduced a privacy-focused feature that permits users to lock specific chats, report inappropriate messages in group chats, and silence calls from unknown numbers.
