You must must have relished the taste of Potato and tomato curry, but try this purely tomato dish. It is tangy and delicious which can be served with hot steaming rice. To prepare this dish you’ll have to grind the masala and then cook the tomatoes. This dish sometimes tastes tangy due to tomatoes but the coconut makes it sweet. So let’s learn how to prepare it.

Tomato-Coconut-Masala Paste: ½ Cup chopped tomatoes, 2/3 cup shredded coconut, 2-3 small Garlic Buds, 2 Spoons coriander, 1 spoon chopped onions, 4-5 Kashmiri Red Chilly, 5 whole black pepper, ¼ spoon turmeric powder.

Rest of the ingredients: 1/2-1/3 cup chopped tomatoes, 1 spoon chopped onion, 2 dried chilly, 1 spoon Cumin, 1 spoon black mustard seeds, 6-7 curry leaves, a pinch of asafetida, 2 tablespoon oil.

Procedure to make Masala Paste: First wash all the ingredients and put them in a mixer. Add dried chilly and shredded coconut and a splash of water and grind it well.

Procedure: Add black mustard seeds in heated oil in a pan. Add cumin, chopped onion, dried curry leaf and asafetida. Mix it and add chopped tomatoes. Cook for 2 minutes, add the grinded masala and then cook again for 2 minutes. Add 3 cups of water and salt. Boil the mixture well and cook on low heat, when the oil appears on the surface cook it on low heat for 15 minutes. Garnish it will chopped coriander and serve hot.
